Feedback Needed From Stitchers

Hello Stitching Friends,

I am in need of feedback from those of you who would like to stitch the design Cottage Charm, but have not yet purchased the kit.  The kit came with linen, floss and fabric for the needle book and pocket.

The kit is no longer available, because the fabric is no longer available.  Despite searching everywhere for more of this fabric, I have been unsuccessful.  I have never discontinued any of my designs, as I still have orders for them, so I hate to do this at this point.  I have had requests from shops for the kit, but have had to disappoint them. So, it would seem that there are still those who might want this design.  Obviously those who have the kit will be ahead of the game as they have the fabric for finishing which accents the piece so well.  But, I am sure there are other fabrics available that would work nicely too.
So...I am wondering...how do you feel about offering this design as a pattern.  I would like to hear from shops as well and stitchers about this before I release this as a pattern.

Please let me know your thoughts about this before I retire this pattern for good.  I always appreciate feedback from stitchers and shops.

Until next time...keep your needles busy.

Gloria

  1. I think it would be great as a pattern.
That way, you could use your own type of fabric.

  2. Although I already have the kit, I think the pattern would be just fine (i would buy it). That way they could find their own fabric etc. I am stitching mine in red and making a pinkeep with a beaded edge. :)

  3. I like the pattern as a kit, but that wouldn't stop me from purchasing the pattern. Many fabrics go out of print and as a stitcher, quilter and crafter you just learn to make it up in your own. One idea might be to stich it up in a different color and fabric and put on photo of it on the back of the pattern or just put a disclaimer in it about fabric availability. You might also need not to do that at all. Most stitchers understand availability issues.
Would love to hear back about your discission.

  4. Its one I had on my "to-do list" and was lazy about getting the kit. I would love the pattern. I feel as needleworkers we all have great imaginations and it would be fun to release the pattern and ask that everyone send you photos of what they do with it for you to post. How fun to see what everyone would come up with. Let us know when we can order the pattern from our LNS.

  5. Please don't discontinue it. I with more designers would offer design only vs kits on their older items :D

  7. I just found your blog- but am not new to your gorgeous designs! I would love this as a pattern. I'm sure there are fabrics that would complement it well- just sorry I missed out on the kit. Looking forward to stitching it. Nancy in NY hedghogmom@aol.com
